Why Should I Donate?

A gift to either initiative is an investment in the Park Scholarships and the Park Alumni Society.

Whether you’re showing appreciation for opportunities you’ve received or your support for the next generation of Scholars, you’re helping the PAS establish relationships with the NC State alumni community, and future Park alumni. You’re also helping fulfill our mission of supporting the program and current Scholars.

Donating has benefits as well. You’ll establish a donor history with NC State and take advantage of tax benefits.

We know that many alumni are just starting their careers and families or are still in graduate school. However, we believe it is important to show our support through participation. That’s why we’ve set up a 50% participation goal. Your gift—no matter the amount—will help the PAS reach its goals.

Last year, the Park Alumni Society began a journey. We started a tradition of giving back to the University and the Park program in a tangible way. Thanks to Park alumni, we raised nearly $40,000 to support the Dorothy and Roy Park Alumni Center and to establish a Park Alumni Society Study Abroad Stipend.

This year, we want to continue our strong commitment to the program and send more of our current scholars overseas for educational experiences they’ll remember forever.

A gift to the Study Abroad Fund will help in two ways:

  • It allows the scholars to make plans for next Fall and next Spring with the knowledge they’ll have funds available to them, and
  • It helps us meet our goal of endowment so these awards are available into the foreseeable future.

Involvement is our number one goal this year. Please give whatever you can. We are aiming for 50% participation, and would like to be able to fund at least five students per semester.
